Jill and Ken Please accept my condolence on your loss.Doris knew your parents when she worked in the Drug Store in Kincardine. In 1955 when we moved to North York your mother and dad were our sole support system as we did not know one other person in the city.Mary in particular was able to meliorate our situation with a number of gifts such as acouch achair a table etc.how well I remember the fir coat she gave me fof my Winter walk to school Man was that heavy.Over the yearsour friendship developed and I have spent many memorable times with your mother over a coke and a chocolate.As I look back with ny time with Mary I realized she left Doris and I with a legacy of gifts. Gifts of laughter, wit, , kindness, compassion.and humility. We were so much the better for knowing and being with Mary and Jim Thank you and good luck

Aunt Mary was a special lady. She always made me feel special - she visited with us, not just our parents. I remember her and Uncle Jim taking us for ice cream and reading "the night before Christmas" to us. And happy times at the cottage. She was a link to our past, passing along treasures she'd found in her attic - often something my grandmother had given her from their time in Japan. I'm so sorry for your loss. You said it well - released from the confines of dementia - but still the sad end of an era. I was just thinking about her yesterday, before my mom told me the news...and will continue to remember her (and Uncle Jim as well) for years to come.
