I offer my deepest condolences for the family here. Dr. Warner was one of the most thorough professors I have had for a class at University of Maryland. He went above and beyond in teaching us the content and truly pushed me to be the best I could be in the class. You will be missed.

Dear Anne, What sad news. I always enjoyed the times spent with you and Bob. They were such bright spots in my childhood: "stealing" Bob's nose at a family dinner party and giving it back at the end of the evening, listening to his hair-raising chemistry stories, visiting museums with you, opening cards and presents from G.O.B. and G.Y.A. I'm so grateful to you both, and hope that you are coping well on your own. Love, Leah

We only got to know Bob and Anne in recent months and more so in the last few weeks of Bob’s life. We quickly came to appreciate his kind, gentle and always-friendly manner, as well as his boundless curiosity, quick wit, and great sense of humour. We feel lucky to have known him and we miss him. Our condolences to Anne and to his family and friends.

Dear Ann: We are so very sorry to learn of Robert's passing. He was one of the first friends we made upon our arrival at UM. We lived near each other and spent considerable time together. We developed strong affection for Bob, as he was such a kind, intelligent and gentle soul. Our young son, Bill, was an infant at the time and was very attracted to Bob. He called him "Bots." Although our paths diverged over the years, our fondness for you both remained with us. We truly regret the loss of regular contact but we will always hold a very special place in our hearts for Bob and you. We send our heartfelt condolences to you and Bob's family. Dear Anne, It was with great sadness that I heard of Bob's passing. He was one of my favorite colleagues in the Math Department and was a true gentleman and a true scholar. I always enjoyed talking with him, and it was wonderful having you and him as neighbors in Berwyn House back in the early 1980's. My sincere condolences to you and your relatives. -Larry Washington
