To the beautiful family and friends of Karen. Today at a lunch with dear friends I made while I attended Cardiac Rehab where I met Karen , I learned the sad news of dear Karen's passing. She was a beautiful soul that helped me through my cancer journey. She is a beacon of light for so many. Her profound wisdom and compassion and empathy and courage shall always be remembered along with her great laugh. Thank you God for the gift of Karen that touched so many lives. Eternal Rest grant unto her Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her.

I was shocked and deeply saddened today to hear of the passing of Karen. Although my encounters with Karen during the soccer games were unfortunately brief they were memorable and I will always remember her as a very caring and thoughtful person.

We are so sorry to hear about Karen's passing. We have fond memories of the time we spent with all of you at your place in the country and at our cottage as well as the early days at Roph Road when Donnette and Diana brought our families together. Karen had an incredible warmth and kindness about her. She was also very intelligent and had a good sense of humour. She was very passionate about the importance of family and we know she was deeply connected and deeply proud of her daughters, Laura and Heather. She approached her cancer diagnosis with grace and strength.
We are sorry we were not able to attend the funeral, we were out of town, away on vacation. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Karen will be deeply, deeply missed. John, Stacey, Nicole and Kristen Thompson.

John, family and friends... I was incredibly saddened in learning that Karen had passed. We were classmates at Laurier, and even though I only saw Karen a handful of times since graduation ('82), I can hear her voice and laughter in my head and have warming memories of long, often intimate conversations after classes and at the university pub. She was such a sweet and caring person. Simply put, Karen is irreplaceable. I'm so sorry for everyone pained by this loss.
