Obituary of Major Betty McCaughey
BESSIE “BETTY” McCAUGHEY
Major Betty McCaughey of the Salvation Army was promoted to Glory at the age of 87 on Sunday, June 18, 2017. She will be lovingly remembered by her family Thomas and Eleanor McCaughey, Stephen and Julie McCaughey, Gordon and Jill McCaughey, Robert and Karen Taylor, and David and Patty Hatfield. She is predeceased by her first husband Glen McCaughey Major, her second husband Herald Hatfield Major, her son Steven J. McCaughey and daughter Wendy Taylor.
Known as “Bippy” to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory. Betty served the Lord faithfully witnessing to her family and others through her real-life example, words and deeds! She was the love of our lives. Her life-giving bible verse was Phil 1:22 “For me, to live is Christ to die is gain.” Well done, thou good and faithful servant! Interment with her loving husband in Ponoka, AB.
