My sincere sympathy to your family in the passing of Genevieve. As a fellow Leaside
resident, I came to know Genny from our similar paths to the coffee shops and Dollarama.
For many years we often chatted, even briefly, and I could not help but be warmed by her
sincere interest and gentleness. It was evident that she was being well cared for and too cared for others. I am grateful for, and will miss, her engaging smile and her kind spirit.
Blessings to you all.

To the family and friends of Genevieve Kate Dalglish: My Deepest condolences to all family and friends. I have lost a great friend, but the universe received a new beautiful star.
“Tonight when you look up, don’t think of them as stars.
Think of them as porch lights welcoming Genevieve Kate Dalglish safely home.”
I remember meeting Genevieve Dalglish for the first time. It was Grade 9 Art class at Northern Secondary School September 1987. It was my first day attend high school. I walked into the art room classroom scoped around the room and hesitatingly place my bag at the table Genevieve was at. Me being a new grade 9 kid in huge and unfamiliar school made me feel very uncomfortable and shy. Genevieve being who she is, an outgoing personality, instigated the first conversation “Hi my name is Genevieve, but everyone calls me Gen…… That is with a “G” not with a “J”…” I will never forget those first words she said. As the class went on, I realized that she was three years older than I was. Being in high school, senior students never associated with the juniors. That was just the way high school ran. However Genevieve was different. She never judged or criticized on what religion, colour of skin, or even how old you are, and before the end of class we exchanged home phone numbers and that was the beginning of a remember able friendship.
“Friendship does not end at death…it is eternal.”
There are so many lives Genevieve’s touched in a positive way. So many memories that bring a smile and shows how wonderful person she was. There are so many stories about how she made a difference or made someone’s day. I could go on and on and this is just one person she has touched.
“Life is a journey of sweetness and sorrow,
Of yesterdays’ memories and hopes for tomorrow,
Of pathways we choose and detours we face
With patience and humour, courage, and grace,
Of joys that we’ve shared and of people we’ve met who have touched us in ways we will never forget.”
Sorrow does not last forever. But memories do….I can guarantee that anyone who has encountered a relationship with Genevieve can definitely agree that we will cherish and will remember all and every happy memories of her forever.
Thank you Gen Gen for teaching me the real meaning of a friendship.

I am so sorry to hear of Genevieves passing. She was such a fantastic friend during the years we shared at Bethany. We lost contact for several years after that but thanks to social media had reconnected in the last couple years. It was nice to see that she was doing so well and we were able to keep up with the little things in life.
I wish to extend my deepest condolences to her family on her loss.

We have both known Genny for over twelve years as we used to work at Nunzios, Valumart and Secondcup. She always had a smile on her face and we always looked forward to seeing her. Most recently over the last year, I was on maternity leave with my son and we would see Genny often at Secondcup and she would sit with us at the comfy chairs and we would have so much fun. She would always tell us about her niece Marigold and her cat and spoke so lovingly of her entire family. We will miss her so much and she was always a familiar face on Bayview. Our condolences go out to the entire family.

It was in beginning acting class that I met her. We were paired up and asked to recite some poem to each other. There was some phrase about “lugubrious eyes.” At the time, I thought she was too kind and nice to act sad and dismal. As I got to know her better, I learned that she had more hardships than I realized. I always tried to be nice and kind in return, but we did grow apart. I’m very sad to hear of her passing, and sadder still knowing that I let her fade away from my life after Bethany.

Dear Camilla,
It is with sadness that I read of Genny's passing. Through a mutual friend, a few years ago, you introduced me to Genny in her home. I continue to uphold that vision as the perfect solution for my son in Edmonton.
Genny wrote many letters to my son, which he always opened with excitement.
I am thinking of you and your family, inspired by your life-long advocacy and love.

I am very sad to have been informed of the passing of Jenny, please accept my warmest condolences.
Jenny was a classmate of mine at Whitney, I can't remember the grade exactly but it may have been grade 2 Mrs. Giles but what I do remember to this day is that Jenny got sick and was away for a long period of time. What amazed me upon her return and I still remember to this day is the huge stack of work that she submitted! In her absence or upon her return she completely caught up on all the classwork that she had missed and I thought it was just amazing! Even as a very young child Jenny was pretty incredible.
Kindest regards
Don
