Dear Senator Nicole (Courtois) Eaton,
I can’t tell you how upset I was to learn of the recent passing of your Thor.
I’ve known “the boys” collectively for many years and each and every one of them, including particularly Thor, were always great company and most helpful in the various initiatives that came their way.
Thor’s obituary was very descriptive and conveyed just the right dose of recollection and condolences - and I would be pleased to replicate those sentiments from this corner.
I recognize there was some suggestion concerning the right “tribute” that should be tendered in memory of your Thor. I am giving the matter some thought and particularly would like to offer a gift in Thor’s name that would embrace a theme making it meaningful to the both of us.
I will let you know what that might be – in the meantime I wanted to convey my deepest condolences.

I notice Thor Edgar Eaton's tribute because of my attention to my mother's funeral to take place tomorrow Apr. 27th (Betty Kennedy-Burton).
Over the years people don't really have an appreciation for the vision and incredibly influential efforts of individuals such as Betty Kennedy, Allan Burton and throughout the Eaton family.
I've hunted and fished with Allan Burton and over the years the many stories of things like Metro Toronto Planning council, Simpsons and Eatons retail strategies, Royal Winter Fair and Toronto Maple Leafs (when you could name individual's who's entire hockey career had a special loyalty to the city.) Toronto, seems to have had a heart that has become somewhat fragmented and obscured in an era that is not necessarily got the same sort of soul.
I'm sorry for your loss and ours in the loss of Thor Edgr Eaton and my mother Betty Kennedy-Burton and an era that is disappearing.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. I lost Gord on March 1. I am the dog mother of your two standard poodles [I remember one was called Bubbles], and we at Torbec were always so proud that Thor took them hunting. He was a great Torbec ambassador and a great outdoorsman.
