Dear Doug, Alan, Chris, Willmot, Nancy and families,
I send my sympathies on the passing of your dear Mum and grandmother and great-grandmother-- but what a long and wonderful life she had! "Aunt Babs" is forever joyfully inscribed in my memory for her generosity and kindness but also for her vitality and natural curiosity. She was the heart and soul of Wildwood, a place that loomed large in the summers I and my family spent at Shanty Bay. I remember that she always seemed genuinely interested in the thoughts of us young 'uns, a trait not universally shared by some of her contemporaries. She was warm and approachable and when I think of her right now that warmth and approachability come flooding back in the memory. Such a lovely legacy.
