Obituary of John "Jack" Milne

John “Jack” Dunbar Milne, 88, died peacefully on March 15th, 2017 in North York after suffering from Alzheimer’s disease for several years. Jack was born on February 12th, 1929 to William and Evelyn Milne and was big brother to Robert C Milne. He married Patricia Blackman in 1953, and became a loving father to three children. He was President of Maple Leaf Insurance; he was an avid gardener, a friend to all animals and a passionate "birder". He loved spending time at the cottage on Mississagua Lake, where countless happy hours were spent teaching his children and grandchildren about fishing, bird watching and wildflowers. Jack will be dearly missed by his wife, Patricia; their children, Robert, Terry and Sandra; and his grandchildren, Danielle and Justin Olivier. We are very grateful to the caring staff in the SBU at Cummer lodge; they were terrific! A service will be held at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES – NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) on Wednesday, March 22nd at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to following the Rosedale Room. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jack’s life. If desired donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario or Canadian Wildlife Federation.
