Obituary of Heather Lise Lyle MacLeod

HEATHER LISE LYLE MacLEOD

It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Heather in Toronto on Friday, February 24, 2017. Cherished daughter of Gay and Ian MacLeod. Adored sister of Tyler and Chris Kane (Jennifer McGowan). She will be remembered by her cousins Shelly, Chris and Drew. She will be sadly missed by her nieces Melodie, Sara, Violet and nephew Joe, her Uncle Scott (Mary) and Aunt Marilyn (Joe).

Heather attended Branksome Hall and the National Ski Academy, then earned a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art, from the University of Western Ontario. She went on to do Post Graduate studies in Medicine at Charles University in Prague.

Heather grew up in The Beach with her family, and was an accomplished paddler at Balmy Beach Canoe Club and UWO. Her fondest memories were spending summers at the family cottage on Georgian Bay, where her parents taught both kids to waterski and develop a love for the great outdoors. She went on to perform at waterski shows in Muskoka and at the CNE.

Winters were spent with the family and dear friends at the Beaver Valley Ski Club, where she learned to ski and developed into an accomplished ski racer. She ultimately joined the National Ski Academy then went on to coach skiing in Collingwood and Whistler.

Heather was like a ray of sunshine walking into the room. Her outgoing, loving personality and beautiful smile is how her family and friends will remember her.

She will always be in our hearts. Heaven has a new angel.

The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES – NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 5th. Funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 6th in ROSEDALE UNITED CHURCH, 159 Roxborough Drive.
