Obituary of Alan Campbell Giles

<p><strong>ALAN CAMPBELL GILES</strong></p> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>In loving memory of Al who passed away on January 26, 2017 in his 92^nd year.&nbsp; Beloved husband of Shirley (nee Gib) for 67 years.&nbsp; Son of the late Lester Giles and Fern, nee Campbell, and brother of the late Ruth and Fern Giles.&nbsp; Uncle of Pamela Me֜rey (Peter) of Toronto, and Norma Thompson, Douglas Gib, and Teri Gib of Rock Hill, South Carolina. &nbsp;Great-uncle of Sabina (Ken), C&eacute;leste (Theodoros), and Marguerite (Paul) M&eacute;rey, and Brittany and Josh Thompson.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Al was proud of his 49 years of service with The Bank of Nova Scotia, both in Human Resources and Staff Training &amp; Development, and of his more than twenty years of research, advice and counsel through Shalnor Learning, of which he was its Founder.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES &ndash; NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday January 31.&nbsp; A service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, February 1 at 11 o&rsquo;clock.&nbsp; Reception to follow in the Rosedale Room. &nbsp;Interment at York Cemetery.&nbsp; Condolences, photographs and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymilesnewbigging.com.</p>
