Obituary of Edgar Lees

<p><strong>EDGAR LEES</strong></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>Edgar passed away peacefully in his 90<sup>th</sup> year on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Cummer Lodge in North York following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.  Dearly loved by his family, wife Maie (Ehasoo) of 55 years, daughter Rita (Eric), and son Kenneth (Gerly).  Proud grandfather of Alexander, Oliver, Sara, and Markus.  Predeceased by brothers Evald, Eduard, Karl, Johannes, and sisters Minna, Alma, Magda.  Brother-in-law to late Daisy (late Uno), Lea, Vello (Betty Ann), and uncle to Aili, Hilja (Valter), late Heino, late Arvo (late Külvi), Avo (Tea), Merike (Joe), Kay, Anne May, Valerie (Christopher), Glen (Julie), and Gary (Anna).  Edgar is fondly remembered by many friends, and family both in Canada and Estonia, where he was born.  Edgar was a hard worker and always willing to help others.  Active with the Toronto Estonian Scouts for many years, he loved spending time at their campground “Kotkajärve” helping maintain the Lembitu buildings and heating the sauna.  He also enjoyed spending time at the cottage with his family.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES – NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16<sup>th</sup>.  A service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, January 17<sup>th</sup> at 1:00 p.m.  Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery to follow.  The family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers at Cummer Lodge for their compassionate care and support over the past two and a half years.  If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Estonian Foundation of Canada, the Toronto Estonian Scouts and Guides, or a charity of your choice.  Condolences, photographs and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymilesnewbigging.com.</p>
