Obituary of Louise Piller-Tahy
Louise (Warren) Piller-Tahy
“Grand-maman” (1942-2016)
Born in Chicoutimi, fourth daughter to Murray and Françoise Warren, Louise was the beloved wife of Sigmond, the treasured mother of Nicolas (deceased), Sébastien (Kelly) and Juli (Scott), and the adored grandmother to Simon, Lydia, Justine and Merrick.
Predeceased by her sisters, Lysette, Hélène, and Angéline, Louise is survived by Michèle (Gérard) Lachaussée, sisters-in-law Berta, Eszter, Catherine (David), Elisabeth (Kari) and Dora, and brothers-in-law Dieter and Paul (Shirley). She will be sadly missed by her many cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, great-nieces and great-nephews in Canada and Europe.
Louise had a life-long passion for the French language and her native Quebecois culture. When the family moved to Toronto, these passions led her to establish a translation agency, the success of which was built on her tireless work ethic, her creative flair and her commitment to excellence. In retirement, she began writing and was thrilled with the publication of her first novel earlier this year.
With her vibrant and outgoing spirit, Louise found beauty and inspiration in everyone and everything. She will be forever remembered for her warmth, boundless generosity, unceasing optimism and indomitable zest for life.
The family is forever grateful to the medical team at Princess Margaret Hospital and to the amazing staff at Kensington Hospice who provided Louise with such sensitive and respectful comfort in her last days.
The funeral mass will be held at St. Basil’s Church, 50 St. Joseph’s Street (Toronto) on December 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with a private interment to follow. Family and friends are invited to a reception from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to celebrate Louise’s life.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Princess Margaret Hospital (breast cancer) or Kensington Hospice would be appreciated. Condolences, photographs and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymilesnewbigging.com.
