Obituary of Agnes Anderson Couse

<p><strong>COUSE, Agnes Anderson (nee Mitchell)</strong></p> <p><strong>October 9, 1926 - December 16, 2016</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>Beloved wife of the late Mervyn Couse, Agnes passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, December 16, 2016 at North York General Hospital.</p> <p> </p> <p>Loving, caring and generous mother to her four daughters: Beverley Couse of Toronto, Barbara (Brad Tucker) of Kitchener, Brenda (Peter Lobraico) of Stouffville, and Deborah Couse (Jeff Anderson) of Ottawa.  Loving “Nana” to Ryan MacKinnon (Patti), Greg MacKinnon (Tiffany), Jeffrey (Mackenzie) and Sara Lobraico.  Proud “Great-Nana” to Leah Chonko and Lochlan MacKinnon.  She will be sorely missed by her sisters Frieda, Joan, Peggy and brothers Jack (Jean), Jim (Gayle) and her many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her parents Jack and Mary Mitchell, and sister May Bottrell.</p> <p> </p> <p>Agnes was a volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society and the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.  She enjoyed curling, golfing, dance lessons, excursions to theatre productions, as well as craft classes.  Agnes and Merv spent much of their lives in the Muskoka area where they built two beautiful homes.  Family and friends have fond memories of gatherings at Treetops in Muskoka and their home in Toronto.  Throughout her life, she enjoyed traveling with Merv to more than 40 countries.</p> <p> </p> <p>The family would like to extend their gratitude to all caregivers at North York General Hospital and the Better Living PSW staff (Janette, Violeta, and Maria).</p> <p> </p> <p>Agnes loved to knit!  The family invites you to wear a knit scarf (Agnes’ or other) and join them to celebrate a life well lived.</p> <p> </p> <p>The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES – NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20<sup>th</sup>.  Service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21<sup>st</sup>.  Reception to follow the service.  Private interment to follow at a later date.</p> <p> </p> <p>Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Better Living Charitable Foundation.</p>
