Obituary of Theresa Elizabeth Globe

THERESA ELIZABETH NUALA GLOBE

Theresa “Terry” Globe died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Briton House nursing home in Toronto. She was born to Captain Edward Smyth and Teresa Rose Renehan on November 14, 1939 in Monaghan, Ireland. She is predeceased by her soulmate, and husband of 50 years, Michal Martin Globe, who passed in December of 2015.

Terry was an adventurous, bold and loving spirit, who passionately embraced life and those she knew. She took on the challenge of emigrating from Ireland to England, and then to Canada in 1974, with her husband and son. A natural athlete, she played tennis at the Leaside Tennis Club and at the Boulevard Club, with a bit of curling mixed in. She loved to travel with her husband, and together they saw many of the great sights of the world. A giving spirit, she dedicated her time and energy to her family and her community. She volunteered at many places, but especially valued her work at the Junior League and Toronto General Hospital. She was an enthusiastic member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help choir for many years.

Terry is survived by her brother, E.C. Smyth, son Michael, daughter-in-law Helja and her much beloved granddaughter Kajsa. She will be missed.
