My sincere condolences to the Goldes family. Although the days ahead may be difficult, may the hope found at Revelation 21:4, 5 be a source of comfort to you during this time.

Hello Jon
I am sending you the obituary that I wrote for the Toronto Watercolour Society Newsletter Muriel was a treasured member . I saw you mum last year when \I picked up and returned her painting that we had put on display in our Library show in April 2015. I remember you bringing her to many art shows. You were a good son to her and helped her alot to get to events when she could no longer drive. My deepest sympathy goes to you .I know how hard it can be having lost my mum in 2013. Take good care of yourself. Sincerely Carolyne Pascoe
Obituary for Muriel Goldes TWS , LifetimeTWS Member
We were saddened to hear the news that long time member of TWS (1986-2016) Muriel Dorothy Goldes, passed away this past Saturday Dec. 10th at the age of 94. Muriel was a Signature Member and a Bronze Level of Distinction Signature Member who was juried in 15+ juried shows. She was awarded her Life Time membership at age 85 and was also the recipient of her 25th Year Certificate and pin. More importantly Muriel was a true volunteer for the group in a number of areas in particular was a long time member of the Telephone Committee. Muriel was also a member of the Willowdale Group of Artists and Banbury artists.
Last year I was able to pick up one of Muriel's delightful paintings and display it in the TWS April Library Show at the North York Civic Centre with the other Bronze Level of Distinction Signature Members. When I returned the painting, she invited me into her home to show me her extensive collection of great watercolour artists' paintings hanging on her walls. She had acquired them from many of the artists she studied with over the years. She said that they brought her "inspiration everyday. "
She loved painting and took part in numerous TWS workshops and workshops with Margaret Roseman and other TWS teaching artists. Margaret and many of us remember her as "feisty outspoken and a fun loving person. " She actively participated in the discussions at all of the TWS Annual General meetings.
Saddly, she passed away two months to the day that her only daughter passed away in Victoria BC. She leaves her only son Jonathon Mark Goldes .(whom many of you know) Any funeral arrangements that are made will be passed on to you by email when we receive them. A card has been sent on behalf of TWS.
