Oh no, what a sad news. I am really touched by her death. I just commended her on Facebook a fortnight when she posted about her mental condition-I thanked her for being courageous in talking about her condition.

I had the great pleasure and unique honour to teach Tamara in the Department of Environment and Resource Studies at the University of Waterloo -- and be taught much by her in return. She was a dedicated and challenging student, a fearless learner, and enjoyably argumentative. She knew how to stand her ground and defend a point of view or position. Our department had an open door policy, and she made good use of it. Almost every day she would appear in the door with something to report, a new idea, a fresh take on a problem, or just wanting to say hello and have a chat. I loved her friendly grin, her robust laugh, and her good humour. She knew how to push adversity aside, and I remember how valiantly she persevered at a time when her health was precarious: she made every effort possible to get to her classes and we had an agreement that she could use my office at any time as a place to rest up and conserve her strength.
Tamara was one of the most remarkable students our department ever had. Her life was short, but intense,full, and enriching.
