Obituary of Isobel Petrie
<p><strong>PETRIE, Isobel Mary</strong>– BScN (U of T), Public Health Nurse</p>

<p>Isobel Mary Petrie died, in her 95<sup>th</sup> year, on Monday, November 14, 2016, following a short illness.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Born in Oakville, Ontario in 1921, beloved daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (nee Galloway) Petrie. She is predeceased by her dear siblings, sister Elizabeth and brother Robert and her sister-in-law, the late Gladys (nee Scrimgeour).</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews; Janet Petrie, Ross Petrie, Catherine Dyer (James), Deborah Waugh (Harry), Peter Petrie (Linda) and David Petrie (Heather) and their children, Stuart and Craig Petrie, James, Ashley, Kylie and Jordan Dyer, and Nicholas and Matthew Petrie.</p>

<p>Isobel studied nursing at the University of Toronto, and had a full career in the field of public health. Initially in Timmins, then in the Health Unit of East York and finally in the Scarborough Health Unit. Following retirement in 1983, Isobel and her companion, Hazel Knox, traveled, camped and continued their life’s work of caring for others. For the past two years Isobel had been living with the good care and support of the staff at Bethany Lodge in Markham.</p>

<p>A funeral service will be held at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES – NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November, 24th followed by a reception. Interment at St Jude’s Cemetery in Oakville, Ontario will take place at a later time.</p>
