Dear Linda,
I so admired your courage and fortitude during your battle with this terrible disease. Every time we spoke you provided updates on your condition and the various treatments you were taking with such hope and strength. I was as if you were giving me comfort and encouragement rather than the other way around.
Pauline, Linda always mentioned how she could not deal with the many facets of this journey without you being with her every step of the way to make her difficulties easier.
I am so glad she had you living in the same building and that you were the caring sister that she needed.
I have known Linda since the late 70's and always admired her determination and skills she brought to any job she happened to be involved in. She was unselfish in sharing her knowledge and skills to improve the lot of women in CIBC. It did not always make her popular but it did help the rest of us.
I shall never forget you Linda. May you rest in peace and pain free.
Love
Margie Peters

A candle is being lit for the hundreds of people Linda touched during her life. And the candle will continue to pour light on Pauline for she has to be in line for the sister of the lifetime. Pauline, I have the utmost of respect for you and how you made sure your sister was comfortable. Bless you

To The Family of Linda Gust:
I have known Linda since 1970 and I considered us to be very good friends. What I loved about her was that we could go 30-60 days and not be in contact...but when we did, it was as if one or two days went by. We did not judge each other, but were there for each other during the 46 years. My thoughts and prayers go out to you as you were very lucky to have had a sister like Linda.

I have fond memories of working with Linda for a couple of years at the Bloor & Avenue Rd branch of CIBC. Linda was always cheerful and helpful to her colleagues and was well respected by her clients.

Very sorry to hear of Linda's death. She was a firecracker personality, warm, outgoing, optimistic and a great girl to know during the late 70s in Toronto. My sincere condolences to her family.

Pauline and family,
I only knew Linda briefly when we both worked at CIBC in the mid 1990s at Commerce Court. As brief as our the time was, I remember Linda was always kind and thoughtful. My condolences to you and the entire family.

I Love you so much Auntie, there were so many good times we had together that i will always cherish in my heart.
One of my favorite summers I ever had as a kid was when I got to spend it with you in Toronto by myself. You showed me around the city and took me to the best food trucks you knew of! We went around and found all of the painted moose throughout the city taking pictures of us in front of all them laughing the funny one and critisizing the bad ones!
But by far my fondest memory from this time was when I told you that I wanted to dye my hair a crazy color while I was back home but mom and dad wouldn't let me. You said "the heck with them LETS DO IT!" So we ventured out to go get pizza and picked up blue hair dye at the drug store. We went back to your house and BOOM for the next 2 weeks I had electric blue hair!
It was time to go home back to Ohio. Both you and I knew mom would freak out if I showed up at the Cincinnnati airport with bright blue hair. We spent the last day of my stay together rushing around town taking the subway laughing at business men in suits and dress shoes pushing around town on their Razor Scooters while we were looking for a way to get my hair color back to normal! We ended up buying 3 or 4 types of hair dye stripping shampoo and tried washing it out for hours!!! I remember looking down while we were trying to get the dye out and the whole shower was covered in bright blue soap suds. I made a soap beard out of it and you couldn't stop laughing because you thought it was so funny!
After multiple hours trying to get my hair back to normal and both or hands pruning and covered in blue dye we called it quits. We thought we got it all out but after we dried my hair we both were laughing at the results.... My blonde hair that we dyed electric blue was now platinum grey hahaha. We needed to get to the airport so I could catch my flight home so we had to leave it be.
I remember seeing my mom and dad at CVG and they were so excited to see but the after I gave them both a big hug at the top of the escalator, the first thing that came out of their mouth was. What the heck happened to your hair?!?! I spent the rest of car ride from the airport explaining the whole situation!
You always had a crazy remedy for everything and anything. Whether it was magnets in your shoes for pain relief or taking a shot of apple cider vinegar for curing everything (I secretly think that you just liked the taste of that stuff haha <3).
You stood for what you believed in no matter if you were right or wrong and loved to debate your side or opinion of a story or world issue and wouldn't back down! (I'm pretty sure I got this trait from you) I commend you for this!
You lived a great life and you fought as hard as you could have!
You're in a better place now reunited with Grandma and her infamous peanut butter cookies and Grandpa with his great stories.
I Love you so much Auntie Linda, I know you will be watching over all of us and trying to guide us in the right direction.
Love,
Christopher
P.S.
Look at the bright side even though I know you already are.
At least you will witness the world collapsing or bursting into World War 3 due to Clinton or Trump from a safe haven in the clouds. ;)
