Words cannot express how I feel about the loss of your father. He was a wonderful and caring man. Robert Statton was instrumental in planning and developing the Collins and Blind Bay Road Corporation that allows many cottagers to access their Parry Sound area cottages more easily. Many cottagers have benefited from his dedication to this idea. As one of the former directors of the Road Corporation, I offer my condolences on Robert's passing. He had a creative mind. Robert was researching his Family History, he was in Canberra at the time when I received a phone call from him asking if I was related to a SGT Percy Clyde Statton VCMM, when I replied that I was his Great Granddaughter, Robert was very excited, as he didn't know that any Statton's where alive or living in Australia. Shortly after we were able to catch up when he flew to Tasmania. We had a wonderful time exchanging Family history, time went so fast, Robert also met my Father "Ivan Statton", and ever since we have always kept in touch. I'm glad I had the Honour to meet such a wonderful and kind person, as I also didn't Know about Robert, so thank's to Robert's research, it brought the two of us together. Thank You for the time we had, it will always be remembered.
