Obituary of Michael Comeau
MICHAEL JOSEPH COMEAU
March 11, 1955 - July 1, 2016
With great sadness, we announce that our beloved Michael (Mike) passed away at Princess Margaret Hospital just before sunrise on Friday, July 1, 2016 at the age of 61. Three years of illness, treatments, and hospital stays could not completely quell Mike's seemingly boundless energy for life at home and work, and in his church and neighbourhood communities. He loved his work, whether as a scenic carpenter with IATSE for many years, or as a civil engineer with Quinn Dressel for four years before he got sick. He was a proud engineering graduate from Ryerson University in 2009, at the age of 55.
Mike was the cherished husband of Carol (Bartlett), and loving father to Joseph and Aaron. He leaves behind his sisters Helen, Mona and Margaret and their families, and was predeceased by his parents Maurice and Teresa Comeau of Ottawa, where he grew up. He also leaves behind his brothers-in-law, Bruce, Brian, Andrew, Mark and sister-in-law, Gail and their families, and parents-in-law Lester and Mardi Bartlett of Fredericton. Many dear friends had become like family.
The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 8th for visitation. A funeral service will be held in LITTLE TRINITY ANGLICAN CHURCH, 425 King Street East, on Saturday, July 9th at 1:00 p.m. A private interment will take place at St. John's Cemetery in the week following.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Princess Margaret Hospital, whose doctors and nurses cared for Mike with the utmost respect and dignity. We will miss Mike desperately but know he is at peace and in the arms of God. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymilesnewbigging.com.
