Obituary of Phyllis Murton

MURTON, Phyllis Peacefully on Friday, June 10, 2016, in her 99th year. Beloved mother of Philip (Deanna) and Paul. Loving grandmother of Delreet (Sean), Daniel (Nicole), Katie and Patrick, and doting great-grandmother of Graeme and Malcolm. She was married to Douglas Murton for more than 51 years until his death in 1998. Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Phyll graduated as a nurse in 1943 and later worked for the City of Toronto social services department. She was a kind and generous woman of deep faith, and will be sadly missed by her family and many dear friends. Thanks to the staff of the 6th floor, Vermont Square Long Term Care Home, for their compassionate care. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 17th. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 18th at 11:00 a.m. in ST.
