My sincere condolences to all of Claire's family. Claire was such a wonderful, generous person and so supportive of the Canadian Fashion industry. We at Seneca's School of Fashion and the Fashion Resource Centre have been the recipients of her generosity, expertise and knowledge and will miss her presence at annual Fashion Shows, Fashion events and award ceremonies. However, her legacy to the industry lives on as students have the unique opportunity to examine, study and learn from her creative expression and designs. Each time one of the students was able to meet her in person they were awestruck and honoured and although they might have been a bit anxious Claire always put them at ease, talked to them about fashion and design and the student came away with an experience that they never forgot.
Claire was often accompanied by her family and was always so proud of them. I know how difficult this time is for everyone in your family and hope that the memories you have and that others will share help you in this sorrowful time to grieve but to also celebrate her life.
