Obituary of George Sutherland Kerr Hardy
Hardy, George Sutherland Kerr
October 25, 1951 - May 14, 2016
It is with profound sadness and great love that we, as a family, announce the loss of our dear George. He passed away suddenly at his home Saturday evening, at the age of 64, after a fierce battle with cancer. He was born in Toronto to Gordon and Jean (Cuddy - Leaside), both now deceased. Loving father to Trystan, brother to Lynn (Don) and Jim (Mona), nephew to Jean (Cuddy - Renaissance), Jean (Cuddy - Cabbagetown), and Catherine Ascroft. Uncle to Garrett and Ethan, cousin to Loftus, Jim (Rena), Janet (Kelly), David (Elizabeth), Mike (Kathy), Shirley and Carol. Predeceased by his uncles Bob, Mac, and George. A unique life spirit full of playfulness and creativity, most recently expressed through drawing, photography and improv. A true believer in the power of creative expression to heal life's many wounds, and a strong advocate of Toronto's Workman Arts. Special thanks to Dr. Zeldin (Toronto East General) and Dr. Higgins and all the medical team at the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre. Donations in lieu of flowers to either of these organizations would be appreciated. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18th. A true celebration of life will be held Thursday afternoon at the WORKMAN ARTS THEATRE, 651 Dufferin Street from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. All family, friends and work colleagues welcome. Much laughter required! Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymilesnewbigging.com.
