Obituary of Elizabeth Mogan

MOGAN, Elizabeth "Bette" (née Gallagher) Suddenly on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, Bette, beloved wife of M. H. Donley and mother of Deirdre, died in her 98th year. She was the daughter of Charles Gallagher and Lena McAlpine of South Porcupine, Ontario. Bette was predeceased by her sisters Kathleen Gallagher and Mary Gauthier. She is mourned by her twin brother Charles Robert Gallagher of Thessalon, Ontario, by her nieces, nephews and cousins, and also by the extended Mogan clan. Bette was a retired teacher-librarian with the Toronto Board of Education. Much of her professional and personal time was devoted to teaching English to new Canadians. She also did extensive volunteer work, both religious and secular. Heartfelt thanks go to all the staff at The Briton House who have assisted and supported her since 2010. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May, 15th. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 16th in ST. MONICA'S CHURCH, 44 Broadway Avenue, followed by an interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery. A reception will be held in the Rosedale Room at Humphrey Funeral Home. If desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
