Obituary of Ray Fraser

RAY EVERETT FRASER SEPTEMBER 29, 1926 - MAY 8, 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ray Everett Fraser, cherished and much loved husband of Gloria for 59 years, father of Kathy (Peter) and Janet, and proud grandfather of Geoffrey, Erin, Scott, Jennifer and Fraser, brother of Doug (Audrey) of London, Ontario and uncle of Chris (Bob) and Doug (predeceased). Also left to mourn are many wonderful friends and neighbours. Ray attended Maurice Cody Public School and North Toronto Collegiate Institute and was a member of St. Paul's AYPA and Air Cadets in his early years. Ray thoroughly enjoyed his career as a trader on the floor of the Toronto Stock Exchange. He started there at 18 and stayed until retirement. True to his Scottish roots, he had a love for the pipes and drums, and scotch, and was active in the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society and the St. Andrew's Society. He was also a founding member of the Greenthumbs, a part of the Sunnybrook Volunteer Association. Ray was a keen bridge player, avid gardener and he cherished his time in Bruce County and at the cottage on Lake Huron. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18th. A funeral service and Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19th. If desired, donations may be made in Ray's memory to the Sunnybrook Volunteer Association or the St. Andrew's Society.
