Obituary of Paul Winter
PAUL WINTER
Paul Winter, 64 of Toronto, ON passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at North York General Hospital. Paul was born on February 8, 1952 to his loving parents George and Lily in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia.
Paul is survived by his loving wife Debbie Gilmour, his partner in travel and adventures. He was an extremely proud and devoted father to his son Jordan and to his beautiful daughter Holly, and happy to have met Jordan's partner Amy. He was known as Grandpa Paul to Debbie's adoring grandchildren, Brendan and Hailey. He is also survived by his sister Vera, her husband Milan, his sister Darina, four nieces and nephews, Vera, Martin, Rita and Brian; and his cousins, Joe, George and Joan; extended family members and the mother of his children, Lynn.
Paul was an avid traveller, fitting in as many adventures as he could in between his demanding yet rewarding career at SKF Canada Inc. Paul devoted over 30 years to SKF with over 20 years spent as the Chief Financial Officer. In his spare time he enjoyed the weekend papers, spending hours reading them cover to cover. He and Debbie loved to entertain and hosted many memorable events for friends and family in their gracious home.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents George and Lily Mraz, his mentor uncle Paul Winters and his other brother-in-law Milan Malina
A time of gathering will be held at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) between 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 28th followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
