Obituary of Edith Sandusky
Edith Myrl Sandusky
1916-2016
Daughter of Roy and Irene Phinnemore. Wife of Donald Hart Sandusky. Survived by brother Robert, and predeceased by siblings Wesley and Margaret. Mother of Irene Lesko (Rick) and Gustave (Nancy Hawley). Grandmother of Rene, Donald, Kathleen, James, Ester and Eli. Great-grandmother of Kristopher, Joshua, Caleb, Matthew, Lucas and Calen. A devoted wife and wonderful mother, her joyful imagination enriched the playtime of her children and grandchildren. The daughter of a suffragette, she maintained a keen interest in all things political. Once asked what she considered the most significant innovation in her long life, she responded, "Public health and sanitation." For a full 100 years, her wit saw through the fluff. She will missed by all who knew this kind and generous woman. This is a sad time, but a life to be celebrated. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19th. She will join her beloved Donald at Mount Pleasant Cemetery at a later date.
