Obituary of John Barrons
JOHN LANGLEY BARRONS
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John on Monday, April 11, 2016 at North York General Hospital in his 82nd year. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Betty for 56 years, a loving father to David (Esther), Donna (Jonathan, predeceased), and Michael (Kristen). Proud grandfather to Carlton, Charlie, Andrew, Megan, Ainsley and Graydon, and brother of Elaine Snowdon (predeceased).
John attended Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute and the University of Western Ontario and went on to enjoy a fulfilling career as a Chartered Accountant in public practice. A longtime member of the Granite Club and Granite Golf, John was an enthusiastic skier, curler, golfer, tennis and bridge player. For many years he was an active member of the Don Mills Rotary club. His greatest joy was the time he spent at his cottage on Long Point, Balsam Lake with his family and friends. Despite living with leukemia (CML) for 16 years, John was always positive and focused on leading his life to the fullest extent. John will be remembered by his family and friends for his sense of humour, infectious smile, and his loving and caring personality. The family would like to thank Dr. Jeffrey Lipton, and Sima Bogomilsky at Princess Margaret Hospital for their dedicated care. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 17th. A Memorial Service will be held in LAWRENCE PARK COMMUNITY CHURCH, 2180 Bayview Avenue on Monday, April 18th at 11:00am. If desired, donations can be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in John's memory. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymilesnewbigging.com.
