I don't really have one story to relate. Rather, it is a mosaic of memories shared with Don and Joy over the 37 years that I have known them. In the first few years of our friendship, we shared several fun weekends at cottages or went on outings to the countryside. We were even neighbours for a few years in the 1980's in a great duplex on Jane St. Joy, you remember the incident with my cat! Over many years, we shared many a wonderful dinner with great conversations, whether it was at our homes or in restaurants. I love our annual tradition that we have had of our Christmas get together at our favourite haunt, Le Paradis. Since I moved to Niagara in 2012, we had so much fun on our many wine tours and dinners at Paris Crepe Cafe.
When Don left us, he left a huge void in our world. Don was a kind, gentle soul wth a big heart. When he came into a room, he lit it up with his beautiful smile and hearty laugh. He was so knowledgeable about so many things that we never ran out of issues to discuss or laugh about. I loved seeing his absolute adoration of Joy and he did enjoy teasing you!
I will miss you deeply, my dear friend.
