Obituary of Ardagh Sidney Kingsmill

ARDAGH SIDNEY (PETER) KINGSMILL, Q.C. It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Peter on Monday, February 15, 2016 at the age of 88. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Alva (2009), he is survived by his children, Andrew (Leslie) and David (Stephani), and his grandchildren, Lauren, James and Elizabeth. After graduating from the University of Western Ontario (HBA 1950 - gold medalist), Peter moved to Toronto and earned a law degree from Osgoode Hall (1954). He went on to be a senior corporate partner at Tilley Carson & Findlay and McCarthy Tétrault and a director of a number of companies, including Canadian Pacific, Suncor and Laidlaw. Peter loved opera and classical music and was a long-time supporter of the Toronto Symphony. He also enjoyed summers at the family cottage. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) on Monday, February 22nd from 12:00 p.m. followed by a service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. In his memory, a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
