I just found out that Bob became ill and passed away. I was heartbroken to receive the news. I had the pleasure and privilege of working opposite Bob as a trial Lawyer. Bob was a very special human being. He was a gentleman through and through, with gentleness and a sense of humour second to none. He will be missed. My sincerest condolences.

I met Bob when I was a student at Ontario Track 3 Ski Association Saturday advanced program. I came into the program not knowing anyone and being a really shy kid. Bob quickly picked up on this and asked me to sit with him on the bus ride up to the ski hill. We quickly developed a strong friendship and I started to confide in him and he became a strong mentor for me. I was in the program all throughout high school and I can honestly say he made a huge impact on me growing up and he will truly be missed

It was mere weeks ago that we toured the back woods of upstate New York in Bob's BMW on our annual sojourn to Higley Flow State Park. Bob graciously loaned out and helped set the stage for pictures in his BMW to impress a sweet man whom I have since married. I owe Bob a huge debt of gratitude for that. AI knew Bob as a sweet, funny, erudite fellow - full of the blarney as befit his Irish and Newfoundland roots and good to the core - much like his brothers Tom and Gerry. Words are woefully inadequate to describe the rift in our lives left by Bob's passing. He has taught us the fragility and fleetingness and indiscriminate nature of life and death. I will miss him. To Galina, you were blessed to have him in your life. I hope you will keep us in yours now that Bob is gone. That way none of us will lose him all together while we are still here. R.I.P. good friend. Until we meet again....

The world is a lesser place without Bobby's impish grin, infectious laugh and tremendous sense of humour. So many wonderful moments from more than 25 years, and way to many to mention. Yesterday's service and the tributes to Bob were simply beautiful, and though we walked away with heavy hearts, and left Leaside with a million memories, and tears in our eyes, we reminded ourselves that we are so lucky to have known Bob, and shared a huge chunk of our lives "and a toyme er two" together.

Bob was a dear colleague at the Law Society who worked tirelessly to protect the public from dishonest lawyers. His wit and bright smile brightened the darkest days. I caught up with him again when I started working at FSCO. Bob was a very special person of whom I have very fond memories. I am thinking of his family at this time of profound loss.

My deepest condolences to Bob's family. I first met Bob at the Law Society more than 25 years ago. Our paths continued to cross over the years as we worked for the provincial government. Bob was someone who truly loved his work. He was also a lot of fun. Bob was full of insight, good humour and compassion. He will be missed.

Sincere condolences to Bob's family. I knew Bob from school to his early days in Toronto and was best man at his wedding to Cathy. He was always a straight up guy and put everything into things he did, usually expecting 110% from himself. We participated in sports together, camped together, debated things, had a few beers together. Haven't used those high-heeled leather boots he made me buy as best man though! Will always think of him as a best friend.

Many have mentioned Bob's sense of humour, which was witty, dry, and quick. He was also a connoisseur of "bubble gum" music, and the inventor of the phrase " lout sprout". Those of you who lived in Leaside will know what it means.
Farewell, friend.

My deepest sympathy to Galina, Tom, Gerry and their respective families. Bob was a sensitive man, a true gentleman with a witty sense of humour. He had a passion for slick cars, electronic gadgets, skiing and photography, among others. He loved skiing with the kids and touched the hearts of many around him. It was a privilege to have known Bob for 20 some years. His sudden illness and passing leave a void in all who knew him. He has now found peace and serenity but he will be missed. Au revoir, Bob.

To: The Family, So saddened to hear of the passing of Bob. From the good, old St. John’s days of the 1950’s and 1960’s, he was an integral part of our carefree, neighbourhood gang of that era, and we have a wealth of shared, happy memories of him that will stay with myself and my siblings forever. Our roads in life took us all in different directions and Bob moved to Ontario to pursue his legal career. He was a gentleman, kind and true, with a great wit and the ability to bring a smile to everyone. We won’t forget him. Rest in Peace. Kathryn & Doug Mason

My Godfather died today. I grew up only meeting him on special occasions. He lived in Toronto my whole life. He was supposed to come visit us this Christmas, but found out a week earlier that he had Terminal Cancer and would only have 3-6 months to live. Needless to say he was too depressed to come home for Christmas. I miss my uncle, he was a great guy, and he always made me part of the conversation as a kid when all the adults were talking.

I first met Bob 25 years ago, as we represented our respective ministries on a government committee. He immediately impressed me with his warm, outgoing, engaging manner and ready humour. In the ensuing years we often talked, exchanged advice and spent time together at conferences. Most recently, at Al Ryan's going away party, I pulled up a chair next to Bob and we spent a couple of hours discussing old times, the joys of retirement, etc. I was saddened and disturbed to hear that his life had been cut short this way. I will remember him as a delightful individual who contributed through his work to the welfare of his fellow citizens and brought a smile to the faces of all who knew him.

Condolences to the family at this very sad time. I always remember Bob's wonderful sense of humour. We were all in the same neighbourhood growing up even though he was older and he was always someone who you could ask to help at any time. He would even offer up a piece of Kentucky Fried Chicken from a two piece snack box. Which I may add is something that was completely out of the realm of possibility for my older brothers :-) Sad times ..... Thanks for making us all laugh Bob. David D

I had the opportunity of meeting Mr. Conway at Parkview BMW in the fall of 2007 when he came in looking for a vehicle. Right away we had a very pleasant conversation and I noticed that he was a very straightforward, easy going and kind gentleman with a deep passion for cars and driving. Over the years Mr. Conway purchased few vehicles from me and he was always a very loyal ,very honest and very fair client. He always bought 2 doors red vehicles with manual transmission which in today's world is rare and spoke of his true love for driving. I will miss him,his smile and personality. My most sincere condolences to Mr. Conway wife's Galina and his family.

My condolences to you, Galina, and the entire family. I met Bob in the late 1980’s when he worked for a short time at the Legal Services Branch of the then Ministry of Consumer and Commercial Relations (before he moved on to Min Finance and FSCO). Bob and I maintained kept in touch over the past 27 years. Most recently, over the past ten years plus, we would get together 4-5 times a year for dinner and drinks - most often at Posh - a pub that specializes in fish and chips. We’d get together and talk about everything. I am very fortunate to have known Bob. He was a wonderful person - a good heart, great sense of humour, smart (one heck of a prosecutor) and a pleasure to be with. I will miss him and I know he will be sorely missed.
