Obituary of Anne Polanyi

Anne (Sue) Polanyi (née Davidson) Peacefully in Toronto on December 28, 2013 at the age of 84. Much loved mother of Margaret and Michael and mother-in-law to Jim Williamson and Joanne Kaashoek. Grandmother extraordinaire to Nicholas, George and Andrew. Cherished sister of J. Richard Davidson. Sue was born in Windsor, Nova Scotia to Rev. John Francis Davidson and Alexandra (Gerecht) Davidson. A graduate of University College at the University of Toronto, Sue was a dynamic piano teacher who delighted and inspired pupils for decades, a promoter of the arts, an accomplished watercolour artist, and an appreciator of beautiful places and things. She was formerly married to John Polanyi. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 13 in ST. THOMAS' ANGLICAN CHURCH, 383 Huron Street, Toronto, at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations to the Toronto Rehab Foundation, 550 University Avenue, 3rd Floor, Toronto, Ontario M5G 2A2, or the Mona Bates Scholarship Fund at The Royal Conservatory of Music, 273 Bloor Street West, Toronto, Ontario M5S 1W2.
