Obituary of James Watt

WATT, James Owen A. - 1921-2008 - WWII Veteran, R.C.A.F.Peacefully on March 13, 2008 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, K-Wing, Palliative Care Unit, at the age of 87. Owen is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Irene. Beloved father of Lynda (Mike), Angus (Heather), the late Ian and extended family, Leanna (Bill), Debbie (John), Paula (Jim) and John (Jan). Grandpa OJ to Scott (Nicole), Brett, Kate, Jim, Jennifer (Joe), Sherilee (Jason), Shannon, Juliana, Laura, Joanna, Martin, Matt, Michael and his 5 great-grandchildren. Owen served as a fighter pilot in WWII, ending up in Hamburg, Germany. In civilian life he concentrated on Sales, Marketing & Advertising, holding senior positions with several Corporate Companies and Associations. Upon retirement, he became a Director of the Fighter Pilots Association and Charter Member of Don Mills Kiwanis - Golden K. His leisure time was spent at the cottage on Lake of Bays with friends and family. The family would like to thank Owen's wonderful caregivers at Sunnybrook Hospital and his personal caregivers for their respectful care and support. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. at the DONWAY COVENANT UNITED CHURCH, 239 The Donway West (north of Lawrence Avenue East) on Thursday, March 20th with the service following at 1 p.m. If desired, donations may be made to R.C.A.F.
