Marilyn, Sandra, & Mark, I am very sorry to hear of your mother's passing and I regret that I was unable, because of age related illness, to attend her memorial service in Wingham. Audrey had a gift for instilling her love of literature in her students. She was an inspiration to all who knew her in her classes and in the community at large. Please accept my sympathy on your loss.

I met Audrey at F.E. Madill S.S. when I was teaching French there with Richard Campeau. She was the English teacher down the hall, who inspired and made English literature fun for her students. At the end of my year there, she told me she was remarrying and returning to her home town of Toronto. I never saw her again. I have been a Toronto resident for over 15 years,and am recently retired from teaching ESL. I wish I had known she lived so close to me. I would have liked to meet her again. I offer my condolences to her family.

To the family of Mrs. Tiffin: I was in the class of 84 at Madill and benefitted from at least 3 years with Mrs. Tiffin - she introduced me to fabulous reading, especially from Canadian authors, and helped develop a love of creative writing. As I re-read many of these classics with my own high school aged children, I remember her enthusiasm clearly - I can even remember the tip tap of those high heel shoes and the rainbow of colours in her perfectly tailored suits. She showed me a wide, wide world from the narrow confines of small town Ontario. She made a difference. My sincere condolences to your family, H
