I have thought periodically of David over the last year since his death. After getting in touch with him after so many years, I had looked forward to hearing how he had fared since we last met in 1960 and perhaps meeting up with him again. My hopes were cut short by his unexpected death. At a recent reunion in Aldershot of our old Army comrades there was great sorrow on hearing the news of his passing. Unfortunately we have now also lost another two of our band of brothers. When my mother died in 1958 I had a very sympathetic letter from David which I still have in my box of treasures. The contents of this letter gave me great comfort in my hour of need. A year is a very short time when one is dealing with a bereavement of someone so close, but I hope that David's family are beginning to come to terms with their loss.

As a friend of Enzo and of course Violetta Comar, I met and spoke at length with David at the Brazilian Ball and of course socially elsewhere, and immediately I could sense the 'soldier' in him. Violetta has spoken so highly of David and I am very sorry that I had not been given the opportunity to know him better. I wish the Family eventual peace, and Catherine, always remember that with all the feelings you are going through at the moment, it is 'love that is at work'.

I had the great fortune to have met David in the early 1990's when he ran Riviera Concepts. Everything that had his name on it, stood for brilliance! genius and refinement. His passion not only for our industry but for all things beautiful, his family, his relationships, his employees and friends were all encompassed and treasured to the max as he would fondly bring them up consistently in our conversations. I admired everything about David.
He really did change the perfume industry in Canada. He molded, shaped and offered up style and professionalism at it's very best.
As a man, I came to cherish David on so many levels.
I am grieved to learn of his passing but so very grateful I had the opportunity to know him.
I wish Catherine and his family my condolences.
He will never be forgotten.

I knew David when we served in the Parachute Regiment between 1957 and 1960, first meeting at the Depot during training, then together in the Drums Platoon, 1 Para.
We served in Cyprus during the E.O.K.A. troubles and you get to know someone well when you share a foxhole and patrol with them. You could rely on Nuge as a professional soldier and felt confident in his company.
I lost contact with him after 1960 and only recently got back in touch and sadly now, after a short interchange of emails, have lost him for good.
He will always be in my thoughts and those of the Airborne Brotherhood who knew him.

Mr. Nugent, a man I new very little about and met on only a handful of occasions. However, thru the conversation's had with his son, Justin, I could tell he was a proud man. A man who loved his family very much thru the good and the bad. I see the man Justin has grown up to be and can only imagine David did have some influence on it. Noteably,being a long term friend of Justin I see the proudness and the unconditionally love he gives to Samantha and Zachary.
