Dolores was a part of our lives for about 25 years - the best years for sure.. We first met as neighbours when Danny was a baby. I had heart surgery and she brought me cookies. My first post-op outing was a walk to her house for coffee, two doors away, and we talked for hours. Matt, Brian and Ricky were in their little boy prime - making neighbourhood mischief and playing 1,2,3 Tag in the schoolyard across the street . We soon realized that Dolores and I had much in common - we were both raised Catholic girls, we were the mothers of sons, we were born the same year (which made us part of the '54 Club) and we were married to tournament squash players. We travelled together to squash matches in Montreal, Chicago, New York and cheered for our guys at countless matches in Toronto. We travelled together to Tuscany and to her special place, Cat Island where her lifelong friends, Pam and Tony took us to secluded beaches to hunt for sea glass.
I was always so proud to call Dolores my friend. I think she was proud of me too, as she was all of her friends. When she introduced me to a new person she would buff up my credentials with a touch of exaggeration which always made me feel special. She was business savvy and she had such a big heart.
Dolores loved to work, she loved to travel, she loved to socialize over lunch, dinner at a party and she loved to talk about her boys. That smile would break across her face and she would tell me what they were up to. She was so proud of them.
Dolores got me like no one else. And I will miss her like no one else. Our memories and our love will keep her alive forever.

I have known Dee for 33 years. We became fast friends at Air Florida when we were both flight attendants. In fact, although I was younger, I was her supervisor - something she loved to tease me about! We shared a love of travel, warm climates, laughter, singing out loud, good books and eye glasses (on occasion)... yep, our prescriptions were exactly the same, except in the opposite eye, so if you were the borrower, your glasses were on upside down...but no matter it worked for us! Dolores was smart, sophisticated, and fearless. She taught me how to drink a proper expresso, hail a NY taxi, ride the subway, the meaning of a true blue friend and so much more than I have room to write here. We were affectionally referred to Dangerous Dee and Tiger by our families and flying friends. We didn't see a lot each other while busy raising our children with Dee in Toronto and me in the Bahamas. Her boys, Ricky, Danny and Richard are her pride and joy. As our children grew older we were able to spend more time together. Dolores and Brian would visit my husband, Tony and me on the Island at least two times a year, often bringing family and friends with them to share their love of Cat Island. We had so many great memories together and I shall miss my friend Dolores the same way you might miss the moon and stars if they stopped shining. She will always be in my heart and I'm sure in yours too.

Deepest sympathy to Ricky, Danny, Brian, Richard, Pat and all of Dee's brothers, sisters and extended family. I have such wonderful memories of Dee. No one could light up a room like she could. I think my favourite memories include Dee and I sitting with our newborn sons -one day apart- and sharing how blessed we were. When Danny came along, she fell in love all over again with her second son. No question family was the most important part of Dee's life. Now she can share that love and her smile with the angels.

No words could possibly express how saddened I am to hear about Dolores passing nor convey how much she will be missed.
