Obituary of Joan McGowan

McGOWAN, Joan Lillian Passed away peacefully at Toronto East General Hospital on Sunday, August 4, 2013, in her 67th year. Predeceased by her mother Grace and her father Allen. Joan is survived by her husband Brian, her stepfather Alan Filkin, her brothers Bruce and Jim (Pauline) Howell, her sister-in-law Lorraine Atkinson, her many nieces and nephews and her dear friends Susan and Dorothy, who were always by her side over the past three months. Special thanks to Dr. Kevin Workentin and the nurses and staff on G5 at TEGH. Cremation has taken place. A brief ceremony to honour Joan will be held in the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) on Wednesday, August 21 at 1:00 p.m. Following the ceremony, we will continue to celebrate Joan's life with refreshments and memories, just around the corner at 32 Astor Avenue, Toronto.
