My Memories of Joan are in my Wedding Album and in my recipe-card box, and at one time, in my clothes closet. I met Joan when we both worked for an Accounting Firm downtown. In those days we had energy, time and money. We felt lucky that we had them all. When I decided to marry, Joan helped with my search for the perfect hat, perfect shoes, perfect dress, and, on the Wedding Day, she and Brian provided the setting (in front of the fireplace in their Leaside home)for wedding photos with my Parents and my Sister. Brian was in the Memory Box too as he helped with pick-up of flowers and Wedding Cake. What I didn't know was that I was sick, and when I landed in Sunnybrook Hospital three days later, Joan helped my new Husband Joel by producing slippers and new pajamas for my three week stay there. Joel and I also lived in Leaside near Joan and Brian, and we spent many evenings eating and drinking and talking at restaurants and in home where Joan's culinary talents in her kitchen led to recipes currently in my collection in my kitchen. Joan and I grew apart. I moved to Ajax with two children, and spent more time in and out of Hospital, as Multiple Sclerosis slowed me down. My days of energy, money and time were no longer the same. Times change. I missed Joan's beautiful hands, flattering hairstyle, her always fashionable wardrobe, her constant curiosity and ever-positive outlook. That's the Joan I will always remember.

We are honoured to have known Joan. Also, we are truly happy that she got to meet the girls when they were born. She was our friendly neighbour who baby sat our cat and she would take me in when I had a bad day. You are missed Joan. Brian, both you and Joan are in our thoughts always.
