To the Giffen Family,
My deepest sympathy to the Giffen Family.
It has been my privilege to know Mrs. Giffen for many years. I have been lucky enough to be part of many, many Giffen gatherings in Toronto, Muskoka and Bahamas. During my discussions with Mrs. Giffen, she was always interested in what I was up to, even given me advice and continued when I started a family.
Even though are paths haven't crossed recently, my conversations with Billy would always include Mrs. Giffen. I will always remember in the Bahamas as she worked on many gardens that were so valued to the family. One other memory was the discussion of a new Jeep sent to the Bahamas which I don't think was used for its intended purpose. I'm glad the boys had to answer Mr. & Mrs. Giffen and not us.
She will be sadly missed but Mrs. Giffen will always be in my thoughts. A special note, I have been a very lucky person to know the Giffen Family. I have attended many family gatherings over many years. All they asked back is friendship, what a lucky guy I am.

Mama,
Nothing has been harder for me than being so far away from our family during this time, but as I write this I somehow feel closer to you. I know Dad kept you updated on my life while I've been away - and I was able to speak with you before I left in September. Now, I feel I can talk to you whenever I close my eyes. Your spirit lives on through us and through our memories. You were an amazing woman - strong, elegant and smart. I can only hope I make you proud through my own actions.

Many fond childhood memories of Port Credit and Muskoka. Mrs.Giffin the wonderfully classy and beautifull women stood strong amongst the sometimes chaotic housefull of Giffin Boys. She earned the nickname "Mighty Patty" from her adoring husband. Yet Mrs.Giffin was also very soft, kind and gracious as my many long stays at her home and cottage will attest. Sue, Dave and I are saddened by her passing, but gratefulll and enriched for having known her.. Our Heart felt Sympathies go out to all the Giffin family.

I have many fun and happy memories of the Giffin family, as Patti and Don were a part of our Maple Leaf Gardens' family in the 1970's & 80's. We all spent countless hours in the Directors' Room; visiting, imbibing, and win or loose, we all had a good time. Travelling together when the team made the playoffs, as they did in those days, was even more fun, and more family-like. I was somewhat the 'new kid on the block' a.k.a. as one of Paul McNamara's nieces; all his lady friends were identified as nieces until I came along. I would send each of you a note, as I feel I came to know each of you over the years. I am sorry that I cannot be with you on the 13th., but my daughter is home from University in Tampa, and I have hardly seen her, so had booked that week to be at the cottage, where her job is. Ironically, on Tuesday, we are planning to go and visit the McNamara relatives at their cottage in Thunder Beach. Patti had a good life, happiness and sadness of course, but overall, it was a good life. You will miss her, but am sure you all appreciate, as I do with my mother, that she has gone to a better place. My sympathy and affection to you all, anne
