It's hard to believe that it has been a year. But there have been many days in that year that I have thought about Brian. I have really missed the chats we would frequently have about issues in clinical psychology. I have missed his support and friendship and have no doubt that I will continue to miss him.

Ken and I have fond memories of Brian and I have a few lovely framed pictures of his photography which he kindly shared as Christmas gifts. He always had the ability to make me laugh. Ken used to mercilessly rib him about being a " leftie" and pointing out that he hung out with mostly right wing folks! Still miss him....

Please accept our deepest condolences for your loss. For Lorraine, Brian was a colleague, mentor, and friend, who shared a passion for psychology as it was meant to be, … in the service of others. For me, Bill, he was a friend who shared photography and a passion for the solitude of a Boreal Forest. We have fond memories of a man who loved his "Buddhist Temple" on the Madawaska River.

I am grateful to have known Brian. To his friends and family, I am profoundly sorry for your loss. I remember Brian from my days at Sunnybrook Hospital in the 80's. I remember asking one Friday afternoon of a long weekend if I could leave early. With a keen sense of fairness Brian told me to tell everyone they could leave early. In the late 90's, I knew Brian in a shared private practice office space. He always gave me good advice no matter what the topic. What I will remember most was his sense of humour and sincerity.

June and I want to express our sincere sympathies to Brian's family for their loss. We knew Brian for almost 40 years. All of that time, Brian and I worked together in one capacity or another. In the beginning at Sunnybrook, he was my boss. At another time he was a student of mine. But ultimately we were colleagues and friends. When we formed our private practice and June started working for me, she also had frequent contact with Brian. We spent a full work day together at least once or twice per week for about 12 years until Brian retired. So it goes without saying that we are both terribly saddened and experiencing a significant sense of loss as well. I know we will think of him on every future trip we take because for years now, I have had a tradition of bringing him back the tackiest fridge magnet I could find (or maybe a snow globe). Brian was a good and loyal friend and colleague and we will miss him dearly. Martyn and June Thomas

Dr. Ridgely served as Chair of the Ontario Board of Examiners in Psychology and as President of the Transitional Council of the College of Psychologists of Ontario at a time when there was much work to be done to transition to the new regulatory legislation. His contributions to that work were greatly appreciated.
