Obituary of Byron Goodfellow, M.Sc.

Byron Beaton "Ike" Goodfellow, M.Sc., P.Eng. Peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, May 23, 2013. Loving husband of Georgia. Cherished father of Jane (Duncan Smith), Sharon (Greg Baiden), Nancy (David Green) and Keith (Kim Chafee). Proud grandfather of Kent, Haley, Jillian and Taryn Smith, Scott and Derek Baiden, Stephanie, Mitchell and Julie Green, and Meghan and Tyler Goodfellow. Adored son-in-law of Lucille (and the late Carl) Phair, special brother-in-law to Lana (Jim Sutherland) and Michael and Margot Phair. Ike will be fondly remembered by Joan Goodfellow and many extended family and friends. Ike was an active member of the Class of 5T3, a pioneer of technology at IBM for over 30 years, and a leader of customer solutions at Nortel Networks. He enjoyed many passions: family and service to others, travel, trains and his cottage on Boshkung Lake. Ike's optimism and generosity of spirit inspired all who knew him, and combined to make him the ultimate "Goodfellow." The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 27. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, May 28 at 11:00 a.m. Private interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
