We are all so saddened to hear of Marr's passing. We had the privilege of knowing Marr through her wonderful, lifelong friendship with Aunt Win (Karry). Marr was Aunt Win's Guardian Angel, providing her with the physical, social, and mental support she needed to adjust to her new space at Belmont House, by arranging and discarding furniture in her room, by introducing Aunt Win to the bridge and cribbage circles in the residence, and by validating her decision to move to Belmont when she did. With Aunt Win's deteriorating eyesight in the last few months, Marr was there to assist her even more. We were pleased whenever Marr would visit with us when we'd come for lunch in the dining room, always so stunning in her gorgeous suits and scarves, her beautifully styled white hair, and her ever-present smile, sharing fun and crazy stories about their escapades (the canoe-tipping incident was always a favourite!)We can never thank Marr enough for her very special friendship with Aunt Win. We know Aunt Win's life will not be the same without her very best friend, Marr.

I have known Marr my whole life and have so many wonderful memories, and some that weren't so great at the time but became funny with the retelling. What a great lady, very sad she has left us.

We were so saddened to hear about Marr. She was an honorary member of the McMurrich family for the last 30 years!!! My family received such thoughtful christmas cards for all the years my family has been in winnipeg. She was always there for us and was such an incredible model of living your whole life to fullest in every way. She taught us so much. She touched so many lives and we were so grateful to have had her in ours. My dearest condolences to her family at this time. She will be missed. Thinking of you. Love you Marr!

Memories of Marr I first met Marr while visiting Belmont House, she was in the kitchen baking shortbread cookies for the Christmas Bazaar. A short time later I became a resident, (the cookies helped) . Marr quickly became a friend. We played bridge, had a foursome that met at the Belmont bar for pre-dinner drinks, enjoyable conversations and lots of laughs. Marr had energy, always on the go and was a consistent participant in the Belmont House walk. When my eyesight became poor, Marr started coming to my room and read books to me. I loved her and will miss her.

It was so sad to hear of Marr's passing - she was such a gracious and graceful person, and we will always remember and be grateful for the many hours she so generously donated to Wellspring, and will always remember her shortbread cookies. Rest in peace, Marr - it was an honour to have known you.
