It is with deep sorrow that we bid farewell to my late sister's husband, DON. Our condolences to Maia and her family who had to suffer the loss of both parents in the same year. Don was not only a brother in law but also a good and very interesting friend. We spent many pleasant days together from his wedding to vacations at Lake Louisa, PQ. Both Don and Elina will be sadly missed.

Another chip from my block of life. I knew Don at KLCVI, and though he was well ahead of me I admired him, and knew even then that he had a destiny of worth. We interacted some years later when I was teaching at Univ Of Ottawa Meds School. Some good stuff has come out of K.L.I remember Don,s dad--a magnificent piper-- as I fumbled with my chanter Ach Aye, the years go by.I still practice medicine actively in Brampton, don,t have the time to retire I send my sadness and my strength to fellow mourners. In Days Of Auld Lang Syne Brian Thicke

In 1953 I entered medical school at Queen's University in Kingston ON. I had the very good fortune of meeting 3 men who were working on their Master's Degrees in Philosophy. They were generous with advice on things to read , very welcoming to my listening to their discussions. In effect , they gave me a basic education in general Arts.Don MacNiven was a very integral part of my undergraduate experience. His colleagues, Lionel Rubinoff and E.J Bond completed the trio of my early tutors. My condolences to the family

Don was a wonderful friend and colleague, as well as a gifted teacher and scholar. He will be greatly missed.
