Sid and I were best friends. We met in 1952 when he worked at Downsview for the Ontario Department of Highways. We also worked together on surveying for the Burlington Skyway in '53. My wife Margaret and Sid's wife May were all friends and with others, we enjoyed New Year's Eve parties at Hart House. Sid could always be counted on for wise council and advice. We kept in touch. Sid visited us when I moved to Scotland to work; we were living at Clynder on the Gareloch at that time. Again, Sid was there with friendship and advice. We were glad to visit with him in Toronto last year. He'll be sorely missed in so many ways. Jim Flatman, P.Eng, CLS, SPE

To all of Sid's family, our sincere condolence. He is gone too soon and too quick. He touched everyone's life that will affect all of us for the rest of our lifes. We miss him terrible as many do today. He was unique in every sense of the word and touch all our lives to be there for everyone under any circumstance. I am blessed as other are that had spent time with him the week before Christmas and Christmas Day. I spent Christmas eve with him and we sang Christmas Carols and I'll cherish this for the rest of my life. Thank you Sid for that golden time with you. Always loved and you will never be forgotten. He was a very dear friend and he was cherished by myself and my mother. Until we meet again. Love always, Jan
