I'm so sorry that I was not there today. I am so sorry for your loss, all of our losses and am especially sorry that I could be there to comfort you in any way that you might need. Strangely, I do not feel sad, because Iknow,as you know, that Mr. Eagles is resting in a higher state of grace and is no longer in the pain and suffering that he was in. Next month or later this month I will come and stay with you for about a week. We will have a lot to talk about and a lot of gratitiude to express. Love, Cathy.

Dear Anne, It is with deep regret I learned of Stu's untimely passing. As a board member with OPB, I looked forward to the moments when Stu made presentations to the board. He was enthusiastic, persuasive, and as always, erudite. I looked forward to seeing him and I knew that 20 Vic was in great hands! Stu lived life with class, and I am privileged to know him. I share your loss, and hope that today's tribute does justice to Stu's "larger than life" legendary reputation.

For the second time since retirement, I will be unable to attend final services for a man I was proud to call Friend'. Elspeth has acute dementia, she can not easily travel and she needs me beside her pretty well at all times.
Stuart Eagles was a gentle man and a true gentleman. Over the twenty odd years of our business association I never knew him to take a false step. I admired him and I valued our friendship; I truly believe the world will be the worse for his passing.
I extend my sincere condolences to his family.
