Chis & Family: We were so very sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. There aren't any words that could help you through this time but just know we are thinking about you all. We'll miss our weekly chats, Charlie was a very good friend, always there when you're in need. We'll never forget him. Here's a little verse we came across, maybe it can help: Miss Me-But Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me I want no rites in a gloom-filled room Why Cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little - but not too long And not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared Miss me - but let me go. This is a journey that we all must make And each must go alone. It's all part of the Master's plan A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart Go to the friends we know And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss me - but let me go. Sandy, Chris & Family..... Words cannot take away the pain that is being felt by you at this time. To see such a big part of your lives taken away is heartbreaking and unbearable. To say that he is in a better place and will no longer suffer may be true but still will not bring him back or fill the hole left from his absence. As time goes on the pain will ease but the found memories will keep him with you forever. Sending thoughts and prayers to comfort you during this time. He was definitely a great man and will never be forgotten. Lots of Love xoxoxo

To my family in Toronto; I wish I was there with each of you right now. Saying goodbye to my grandfather when I was there 2 weeks ago was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I am so glad that I got to go to see him though. And even more glad that I had time to visit last summer while I was there. I wish that we could have been closer, but living in different provinces made that hard to do. While I was there I was glad to see the bond he had with Corina and Josh :). I'll miss his summer vacations back home, and miss all the visiting I done with him. Everyone in Placentia got excited when they knew Charlie Careen was coming home! And a smile would always appear when we seen his Black Caddy pull up the street with "CAREEN" marked right across the license plate. All of my friends loved to come over and sit down and talk to nan and pop. Now I have another beautiful angel watching over me! Until we meet again, Rest in Peace Pop! I love you forever, and will always miss you! xox

Aunt Chris and Family, I would like to have been able to be there for you on this day. I know that Uncle Charlie will be missed greatly. Dad was blessed to have him as a friend, and I am blessed to be part of your family. His loss will be felt and I am praying that God grants you the strength to get through this. Our thoughts are with all of you individually and as a family - in this time of sorrow remember to hold those you love a little tighter and say I love you to one another each day. I remember Uncle Charlie as someone who didn't like to hang around anywhere long, he used to drive up to see Dad and Eva and stay for a couple of hours and off he'd want to go again. I think one of the longest visits he had in Manitouwadge was the time that dad had to rebuild the camaro that caught on fire on the way up - he was stuck there for three days... :) Love Always, Lynn & Shane

He was the best grandpa ever. I will never forget when he came to my baseball games and cheered for me, or when he came to Josh's hockey games and yelled when he got a goal. When we used to play wii bowling in my basement and he would always cheer for himself when he got a strike, and when he told me how good I did when I got a good mark on a test. He used to pick me up from school every single day when I lived in Toronto and let me sit in the front seat if I said I wouldn't tell anyone. I will miss talking to him every single morning and night, and seeing him every weekend. He was such a big part of my life...and I will never ever forget him. Rest in peace Papa, I will always love you and always miss you
