Obituary of Kathleen Lawrence

Kathleen Patricia Lawrence January 11, 1951 - July 16, 2007 It is with enormous sadness that the partner and family of Kathleen Lawrence announce her passing at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. Kathleen leaves behind her loving partner and best friend, Majda Mekis. Predeceased by her deeply loved brother and sister Michael and Maureen Mawson. Beloved daughter of Moira and Bud Lawrence and deeply missed by Karl and Agica Mekis and family. Big, big hugs to her special girls (nieces) Caitlin and Siobhan Lawrence-Pelzer; her beloved sisters Jacqueline and her husband Craig, and Rosalyn and her husband Daniel. Love to "her boys" Ben and Mookie. Kathleen was the heart of our family. To the very last moment she lived her life with great energy and gentle appreciation for all she encountered along her way. Words cannot express the depth of our pain and loss. She will be missed and remembered by her family and friends, but, for all of us, will remain the light of our lives. Huge appreciation for the extraordinary care Kathleen received from staff and associates of Princess Margaret Hospital, especially from the dedicated nurses and doctors of the Palliative Care Unit. And particular thanks to Dr. John Bryson and Dr. Anita Singh for their singular support and compassion. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18. Funeral service will be held in ST. JAMES-THE-LESS CHAPEL, 635 Parliament Street on Thursday, July 19th at 12 noon. The family would appreciation donations to the Princess Margaret Hospital, Palliative Care unit, 610 University Avenue, Toronto M5G 3M9.
