Obituary of Blanca Baldwin
Peacefully on November 8, 2007, with children Robert and Carmen by her side. Met her globe trotting geophysicist husband, Bob, and his son Larry in her native Peru. Moved to the U.S., where they expanded their family. When a tragic helicopter accident in an Alaskan storm claimed Bob in 1959, Blanca and family moved to his hometown Toronto. A 25-year breast cancer survivor, Blanca lived with Alzheimer's in her later years. Despite this illness, she still found pleasure in the joys of life that we all do, whether it be hearty Sunday meals, trips for ice cream, or playing with grandsons. Blanca's spirit carries on through sons Lawrence, Robert, and daughter Carmencita, as well as grandchildren Jack & Max, who were the light of her life. Blanca's memory also cherished by mother Juana (97 years young), daughters-in-law Jackie and Betty Lynn, and extended family. We all miss her, but know she is in a better place. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from 7-9 on Wednesday, November 14. A funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock on Thursday, November 15 in GRACE CHURCH ON-THE-HILL, 300 Lonsdale Road. If desired, donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Salvation Army appreciated.
