Lynda and Paul, It can only be comforting to know that your mother had a life well-lived. She may have been called by many names and titles but she will always be Brown Owl to me. With love and prayers, Mari-Vic Mann Buckley

Lynda and Paul: What wonderful memories of your mother as Brown Owl and great friend to our mother Betty Hilton. I chuckled when I read your tribute to her baking as I took my Baking Badge, as a Brownie, in your mother's kitchen. I was terribly nervous... she made me feel comfortable and capable... a lasting gift to a young person. Our mother's shared a special bond... wonderful that she was able to remain at home. Fondly, Beth

Dear friends, We both have the very warmest memories of your Gertrude, having lived across the street on Stratford Crescent for so many years. Our mother, Isabel Dingle, lived to be over ninety alone in the family home, and Gertrude was not only a good neighbour but a true soul-mate. Both women were widows, living on in their family homes. On a happier note, they also shared a deep love of Muskoka, and saw each other numerous times in that context. May God rest both their souls. Let's be thankful for all we have received from these strong and loving mothers.
