I am truly saddened to hear about Randy. We were great friends at Carleton University and we regrettably lost touch over the intervening years since graduation as he moved to Toronto and I worked in Ottawa, overseas, then in the US and finally, ended up in BC. Aside from his skill as a carpenter which he learned from his Dad, I recall he had a great passion for skiing as well as architecture - we were fellow executive members of the Carleton University Ski Club that we created to organize inexpensive student ski trips to all the best mountains in Quebec and Vermont. He was the Ski Club Vice President, Dave Smith was the President and I was the Secretary Treasurer, although I must admit that he and Dave were much more accomplished skiers than my self. Our threesome of Randy, Dave and I went on to share a flat together in London , as part of the Carleton Architecture school
